Western Australia (WA) is a vast and diverse region, offering some of the most breathtaking landscapes and unique experiences in the country. From pristine beaches to rugged outback, here are some of the best places to visit in this stunning state.
Perth, the vibrant capital of WA, is a must-see. Set along the Swan River and surrounded by beautiful beaches, Perth combines urban charm with natural beauty. Visit Kings Park for panoramic views of the city skyline, explore the cultural precinct at Elizabeth Quay, or relax on the golden sands of Cottesloe Beach.
A short trip from Perth takes you to Rottnest Island, a paradise for nature lovers. Famous for its friendly quokkas, pristine beaches, and crystal-clear waters, it’s perfect for cycling, snorkeling, or simply unwinding on its secluded shores.
To the north, Broome is a tropical gem known for its dramatic sunsets over Cable Beach. The town is also rich in history, with its pearling heritage and vibrant multicultural influences. Nearby, Gantheaume Point offers ancient dinosaur footprints and striking red cliffs.
Further up the coast lies the Karijini National Park, a true natural wonder in the heart of the Pilbara region. Famous for its deep gorges, waterfalls, and stunning landscapes, it’s a haven for hikers and adventure seekers. The park's dramatic scenery is perfect for exploring, with trails that lead to hidden swimming holes and awe-inspiring views.
Margaret River, known for its world-class wineries and craft breweries, is another highlight. Located in the southwest, this area offers a blend of gourmet experiences, beautiful beaches, and ancient forests.
Finally, The Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park offer a unique sight: striking, striped rock formations that have become iconic symbols of WA’s natural beauty. From the coast to the outback, Western Australia is a destination filled with diverse landscapes and unforgettable adventures. This place holds a unique place in my heart with many hours spent in a helicopter doing work with Bungle Bungle Caravan Park and Lake Argyle Caravan Park. Duncan, my helicopter pilot famously walking through the caravan park calling for "His Photographer". Make sure to take a trip over the Bungle Bungles in a helicopter to get a different perspective.
